Holden America is the sole marketer and distributor for the Grate/Lock Chock, a automotive vehicle securement system designed for use in bi-level railcars. For years, the rail industry relied on the 4 point chain tie down system, which tightly winched the vehicles down to the railcar deck. In the late 1980's, automotive manufacturers issued a challenge for a securement system that instead used the vehicle's own suspension to absorb the vibrations and shocks encountered during rail shipments.

The result - the Grate/Lock Chock - offers vehicles a superior ride quality, with increased ease of use for loaders and unloaders. Nearly 80% of the bi-level railcar fleet has now been equipped with chocks, including all new builds currently coming out of Thrall Car in both Winder and Cartersville, Georgia.
